Everything we have is a gift. What we do with it is our response.
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10
What is Stewardship?
Stewardship is not about money. It’s about mission. It’s about recognizing that all we have—our time, talents, and resources—come from God, and using them with intention, generosity, and joy to serve the Church and others.
It’s not a fundraising strategy. It’s a way of life.
True stewardship:
- Flows from gratitude
- Is rooted in prayer
- Leads to action
- Builds up the Body of Christ
Our Family’s Stewardship Vision
As the Lakes Erie and St. Clair Catholic Family of Parishes, we are striving to become a community of intentional disciples. That means:
- Welcoming others with warmth and humility
- Using our God-given gifts to serve in ministry
- Growing in our faith through formation and worship
- Supporting the mission of the Church through sacrificial giving
In everything, we begin with prayer. Stewardship is not what we do for the Church—it’s what we do because we are the Church.
The 3 Pillars of Catholic Stewardship
Time
We make time for God—through daily prayer, Sunday Mass, the sacraments, and quiet moments of reflection.
Talent
We offer our gifts—hospitality, teaching, music, organization, compassion—in service to the parish and those in need.
Treasure
We give financially—according to our means and with a spirit of trust—so our parishes can continue to share the Gospel and care for others.
Stewardship is not about equal giving—it’s about equal sacrifice.
Growing as a Steward: Start Here
Here are simple ways you can live stewardship today:
- Attend Mass regularly and pray daily
- Volunteer in a ministry or outreach program
- Reflect on your giving—can you give 1% more this year?
- Sign up for pre-authorized giving to make your support consistent
- Invite someone to join you at Mass or a parish event
- Thank God daily for your blessings—and ask how He wants you to use them
Stewardship is Discipleship
We are not called to maintain the Church. We are called to transform the world. And that begins with hearts that are generous, humble, and on fire with the love of Christ.
Thank you for everything you do—seen and unseen—to build up our parishes. May our stewardship not just fund the Church, but form us into saints.
