History: The history of Immaculée Conception parish in Pain Court is closely tied to St. Peter’s parish, initially serving as its mission. Founded in 1853, the first church, dedicated to Saint Joseph, was built under Father Raynel. After the first church was destroyed by fire in 1874, a new brick church was constructed. Over time, several priests contributed to the development of the parish, including the construction of a convent and a new school. The current church, built in 1937 after another fire, was blessed by Bishop Kidd. Despite challenges, the parish has maintained its French language and culture. The church underwent significant renovations in 1999, and the parish celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2004.

History: In 1855, after ten years of the sacraments being celebrated in the homes of the faithful, Mr. Francois Xavier Lanoue donated five acres of land for a chapel, and eventually the first parish church, to be built on Middle Road, named after his patron saint. As more settlement happened, the parish of 300 families soon found the church too small. The sight proposed for the new church was in the village. In the spring of 1895, the church was completed and opened for public worship. In 1910, elegant altars replaced the temporary ones, and and an exceptional two keyboard pipe organ was installed in 1923. In 2005, St. Francis Xavier celebrated 150 years of faith.

History: In 2002, the Advisory Board decided to remain in place to ensure continuity in building a new church. After evaluating several sites, six acres donated by the Reaume family were chosen for the church, with plans approved by the Diocese and municipal permissions pending. Despite facing legal challenges and community division, fundraising efforts began, and over $900,000 was raised. The Ontario Municipal Board approved a zoning by-law amendment in 2004, and by 2005, a loan for half of the construction cost was secured. The site was blessed in December 2005, with the church expected to be completed by Christmas 2006.
