Baptism

Reflections on water with blue and white hues, symbolizing purity and new beginnings.

“You are my beloved child. With you, I am well pleased.” — Mark 1:11

Welcome to the Sacrament of Baptism

We’re so glad you’re here. Baptism is the first step on the lifelong journey of faith—it is how we are welcomed into God’s family, receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and begin a new life in Christ.

Whether you’re preparing for your first child or returning to celebrate this sacrament again, we are honoured to accompany you.

When Are Baptisms Celebrated?

Baptisms are celebrated during Mass on the 4th weekend of each month (Saturday evening or Sunday morning), so that the whole parish community can welcome your child in faith.

Current Mass Schedule:

  • Saturday at 5:00 PM – St. Francis Xavier & Immaculée Conception
  • Sunday at 8:00 AM – St. Peter’s
  • Sunday at 8:30 AM – Visitation (French)
  • Sunday at 9:45 AM – St. Francis Xavier
  • Sunday at 10:30 AM – Visitation (English)
  • Sunday at 11:30 AM – Immaculée Conception

How to Begin

To request a baptism:

If you would like to register your child for Baptism,  please fill out the form by clicking HERE. Our Pastoral Ministers or a staff member will be in touch with you.   You may also call the parish office at (519) 682-1102.

Baptism Preparation

If this is your first time having a child baptized in our Family of Parishes, you’ll be asked to:

  • Attend a short preparation session
  • Watch a few brief online videos
  • Participate in a meeting (in person or virtual) with our team

Already baptized a child with us? We still recommend watching the videos—especially the second one, Soul Bath, with your other children. You’re welcome to speak with our Pastoral Minister anytime.

What Baptism Means

Baptism is more than a tradition—it’s a sacrament of new life. In baptism, your child becomes a temple of the Holy Spirit and a member of the Body of Christ. As parents and godparents, you promise to raise your child in the Catholic faith. As a Church, we promise to support you on that journey.
