The Anointing of the Sick is not only for those who are dying. It is a sacrament of healing and peace, offered to anyone seriously ill, preparing for surgery, living with chronic pain, or in palliative care. Through prayer, the laying on of hands, and holy oil, the person receives the strength and grace of Christ in body and soul.

Who Should Receive the Anointing?
- Anyone preparing for major surgery
- Those living with serious or chronic illness
- Elderly persons experiencing a decline in health
- Those near the end of life
- Those suffering deeply in mind or spirit
This sacrament is not only for the dying. It is a sign of God’s healing presence at any stage of serious illness.
